Located at the end of a long, winding path, nestled deep in the hills of Cala Llonga, Aguamadera is a 19th-century finca-turned-agroturismo that makes you feel as though you’ve quite literally ascended to heaven itself. This is a place where hours, minutes and seconds lose all sense of purpose, where a gentle breeze emanating from the surrounding pine tree forests will carry away all of life’s problems, and where the only serious decision you will have to make each day is deciding what’s a socially acceptable time to start drinking margaritas. The stunning interiors effortlessly combine rustic charm with minimalist sensibilities - earthy tones, whitewashed walls, and natural features prevail throughout. Sleep quality here was fantastic (comfortable bed, great AC) and staff were friendly and accommodating. We found the restaurant to be very good overall, although there were a few hiccups with breakfast (it turns out cooking eggs on a wood fire is a precarious business). This hotel is truly a hidden gem, perfectly showcasing a side of Ibiza that you may not have known existed.
Top Tip: Be warned, the road leading up to the hotel is very badly maintained. Expect complaints from taxi drivers (or the suspension on your own car).
Local Gems:
Head to Nudo for lunch, followed by a coastal walk along the cliffs
Grab dinner in the courtyard at Juntos House
For a day at the beach, head to El Chiringuito Es Cavallet
