EDEN LOCKE REVIEW:
If you took a New York co-working space and fused it with the Glossier store, you’d probably end up with something that looked a bit like Eden Locke. The boutique aparthotel chain with additional accommodations in London and Manchester is a zillenial petri dish for creative types and digital nomads alike, so expect to see many a matcha and laptop during your stay. The interiors feature a riot of pastel colors, wooden accents, wicker furniture and plants coming out the wazoo. There are monthly artist residencies, open mic nights, yoga classes, and drinks of the month (it was Chilli Mocha when we visited). The Scandi-influenced rooms are comfortable, if not a bit on the small side. Each room features a built-in kitchen equipped with essentials such as tea, milk, and cocktail shakers, and there’s an Apple TV in each room for Netflix and chilling. The offerings at the on-site cafe are very good (think smoothies, coffees, bagels), and the staff were supremely friendly and accommodating, showcasing Scottish hospitality at its finest. Our one gripe was that the hallways were extremely tight, and the soundproofing seemed to be lacking somewhat. That said, this is a very solid option for central Edinburgh, and we’d recommend it to anybody seeking to explore this beautiful city.
