WALKER HOTEL GREENWICH VILLAGE REVIEW:

Are your parents' friends visiting New York City for the first time? In need of a middle-of-the-road, cute hotel that’s comfortable but won’t break the bank? You need the Walker.

The clientele at the Walker Greenwich Village definitely skews boomer, but we’re not going to hate on that. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The interiors are of typical New York aesthetic—art deco and dark wood panelling prevail. The rooms are small. That said, this is New York City, so we wouldn’t expect any less. Any frustrations we had with room size also quickly dissipated with the epic view of the Empire State Building from the bed. We do think that some of the interiors are looking a bit drab and in need of a refurb, but the bed was very comfortable and we slept well.

The main draw of this hotel is the location—it’s steps away from the West Village and multiple subway lines, not to mention some of the best food, drink, and jazz bars in the city.

Top Tip: Skip the hotel breakfast. You’re surrounded by a ton of better food options in Greenwich Village.
Local Gems:
Grab a salmon and cream cheese bagel for breakfast at Apollo Bagels
Try and snag a resy at the nearby Don Angie for an exquisite lasagna dish

End your night with a jazz session at Blue Note
