CASA IZEBA REVIEW:
Casa Izeba is a newly opened boutique hotel that feels as though you’re stepping into your rich uncle’s beautifully renovated townhouse. The hotel is located in the uber-cool area of Roma Norte - a district of CDMX that has seen a meteoric increase in digital nomads, hipsters, and overpriced lattes since the pandemic. Nevertheless, a stay at Casa Izeba ensures easy access to boutiques, art galleries, museums, and a sleuth of the top-rated restaurants and bars in the city. In short, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better location in the buzzing Mexican capital. The interiors of this traditional 1920s-style building are tastefully decorated, mixing classic features with contemporary art and decoration, some of which is available for purchase. It is worth noting for those who have a tendency to overpack that there is no elevator. Be warned. The rooms are on the small side, but comfortable and modern; we stayed in the Attic room which features minimalist wooden paneling, contemporary accents, and a huge, modern bathroom. The bed is very comfortable and importantly, the AC is strong. The breakfast, which is included, is worth getting up for - consisting of pastries from renowned Panaderia Rosetta (located right next door) along with yogurt, fruits, and toast. Service is very friendly and helpful, and additional asks, such as the provision of filtered water, are accommodated with no issue. All in all, this is a solid option for CDMX.
