In a city that possesses a dazzling array of Insta-worthy hotels, with kaleidoscopic tiling, ornate wooden carvings and dreamy courtyards, to say that it might be difficult to decide where to stay in Marrakech is a distinct understatement.

*Riad Yasmine has entered the chat*

This stunning seven bedroom family run Riad is located in the heart of the medina, just a 20 minute walk from the central Jemaa el Fnaa. As with all Moroccan properties, the real magic can be found once you step inside the building and Riad Yasmine certainly does not disappoint. Emerald green and white tiles, a jungle-esque mural and luscious plants set against the clean white and neutral palette of the surrounding courtyard walls create a calming oasis, perfect for relaxation and respite from the oppressive heat - we visited in July and heads up, it was scorching. We stayed in the Toubkal Suite which featured unique wooden latticing on the window and a particularly beautiful bathroom. Each suite is decorated with traditional Moroccan elements, has decent Wi-Fi and a fully functioning AC (you know, the kind that is pleasantly aggressive). If we’re being picky, our only gripes (and to be clear, these were minimal) were with some of the amenities; the food is good but not unforgettable and the pool is beautiful but small, so you may not always find a spot to hang out. But then again, one could argue that this is simply all part of the intimate charm of this place.

Top Tip: Rooftop bars are what it’s all about in Marrakesh. Go to one for sunset drinks and enjoy stunning views of the Medina.
Local Gems:
A pool day at the Royal Mansour comes highly recommended - it is a bit pricey but in our opinion, absolutely worth the splurge
A candlelit dinner at the stunning Dar Yacout was the standout meal of our trip
Dance the night away at Kabana rooftop on a weekend
